About Us

Rachapudi Kamakshi Memorial Trust(RKMT) is an organization to inspire young students/researchers to achieve their goals and fulfill their ambitions. Established in the year 2010, RKMT has contributed to the society in many different ways.

To encourage young researchers working in the areas of geospatial science & technologies, the trust has instituted a gold medal for ‘Young Geospatial Scientist™’ in 2011. The award, consisting of a gold medal, citation plaque and a certificate of merit, is being awarded annually during the biggest congregation of geospatial community in the country, Geosmart India (formerly India Geospatial Forum). Awards were presented during the events in 2011, 2012, 2013 2014,2015,2016,2017,2018 and 2019.The first award was presented by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi (then Chief Minister of Gujarat) in 2011.Also, awards to girl toppers at the Delhi University and Vikram Simhapuri University are presented every year. The trust was established in the memory of Rachapudi Kamakshi, a young geographer with big dreams.

Kamakshi was a Strategic Analyst by profession, yet had a strong inclination
towards Geography and Geospatial Studies. Having been a student of Geography, she had keen interest in Geomorphology, Remote Sensing and GIS.

A devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, Kamakshi always had a smile
on her face. She was compassionate, meticulous and an adorable young woman. She was a Dreamer with BIG Ideas.

Rachapudi Kamakshi Memorial Trust is an Organization founded to help and encourage students as well as young and talented individuals with great ideas and research work in the field of Geospatial Sciences.
